Monday 20th June marks the beginning of learning disability week. An annual campaign making sure that the world knows what it is like to have a learning disability.
This year the campaign focuses on how people with a learning disability are re-connecting with their friends and their local communities after the tough times of the last couple of years.
Poor mental health, anxiety and feeling isolated are still issues that affect many people with a learning disability day to day. Expect Ltd tries to change that by helping our service users to feel less isolated by accessing opportunities throughout their local communities, living as independently as possible in their community and by mixing with and building friendships with others, whilst taking part in a wide range of structured activities such as photography sessions, mental health groups or arts and crafts sessions.
