Lunar New Year – What we have learned

Yesterday marked the Lunar New Year and the first day of The Year of The Tiger.
Yesterday, we posted about Chinese New Year but this morning we learned that not everyone who celebrates is Chinese and Lunar New year is not a Chinese specific holiday.

Lunar New Year is celebrated by many communities and by calling it ‘Chinese New Year’ we are excluding multiple groups of people who also celebrate this festival.

We realise that language matters and words have impact.
