Fundraiser Mike Fahy will be undertaking a brilliant cycling challenge during the summer, riding from London To Paris and raising money for Expect Ltd along the way!
Mike Says;
“I will be taking part in The London to Paris bike ride from 22nd-26th July as part of a team with Global Adventure Challenges. This epic adventure will see me spend 4 days in the saddle, cycling 309 miles from capital to capital. Our journey begins in London with the route taking us through glorious English countryside as we cycle from Kent to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. Once across the water, we start cycling ‘French style’, remembering to keep to the right! We cycle along quiet French country lanes, through traditional market towns with views of the rolling green hills of Northern France, passing the war memorials and cemeteries of the Somme.
A spectacular finish awaits us as we reach the home stretch around the Arc de Triomphe and along the Champs Elysée’s, before reaching the piece de resistance, the Eiffel Tower, which marks our finish line. I’ve cycled for over 50 years- I will be 72 when I complete the challenge.
I have decided to raise money during my adventure for local Sefton Social Care Charity Expect Limited. Expect supports adults with a learning disability and those who need mental health support across the borough and wider North West. I chose Expect to raise money for as my good friend Lenka works there and has told me what a great charity it is. Its a very good cause”.
Funds raised will go towards providing materials that service users from Expert’s Supported Living Services will require when they move in. This could be furniture, bedding, toiletries, and other home equipment of their own.
Expect are extremely grateful to Mike for undergoing this epic challenge for us. We hope you have a brilliant time Mike! Thank you for your support.
