BRC Mindful Steps Walking Project Celebration:
Over the x12-week Mindful Steps Walking Project, x34 service users and staff have collectively walked an impressive 354.9 miles. Averaging 29.6 miles each week, the programme has successfully encouraged regular physical activity while promoting improved physical health, mental wellbeing, and social connection.
A fantastic achievement of the programme- 14 participants reached the Bronze Award milestone by walking 15 miles or more during the 12-week challenge. This reflects the positive impact of the project in motivating individuals to set personal goals, increase their activity levels, and build healthier lifestyles.
To celebrate this achievement, the BRC hosted a special awards presentation at the Day Centre. Participants enjoyed a celebratory glass of fizz while listening to speeches recognising their commitment, determination, and progress throughout the programme. Each Bronze Award recipient was proudly presented with their medal, making it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
Following the success of the Bronze challenge, the BRC team are excited to continue the next 12 weeks of the Mindful Steps programme. Participants are now working towards achieving their Silver Award by reaching the next milestone of 30 miles walked. The team look forward to supporting everyone on the next stage of their journey and celebrating even more achievements in the months ahead. WELL DONE EVERYONE.
